An appreciation for the game that you’re playing
Identifying the victory conditions
The people around you don’t believe that you can do it.
And if they do, you’re lucky, because you’ll encounter someone down the line,
Doesn’t matter who it is
Who doesn’t believe that you can actually make things happen.
But that shouldn’t stop you.
Because remember…
Only you can act on the vision that you see inside your mind.
It isn’t your friends that you go clubbing with every weekend,
It’s not your buddies who you go fishing with on your downtime.
It’s not your partner.
Not even your mum and dad.
Only you can do it.
I was thinking about the power of belief and how it can really change lives.
If you believe that there’s more to life and you don’t believe you’re entitled to anything,
And you work relentlessly towards some goal that you have.
You will get there eventually.
Your life will look like the moving painting that you’ve enacted in your head.
But if you believe that there’s nothing more to life and you manage to see the sliver of negativity in any situation, then that will be your life.
You are going to face adversity.
You are going to face hard times.
You will feel as if you should quit.
You will put blood, sweat, tears and waking hours to make your dreams come true.
And you will fail.
The people in your life aren’t going to believe in you, especially if you’re a young entrepreneur from the ages of 18-25,
Because you have no evidence.
You haven’t done anything.
You don’t have results yet for them to believe that what you’re doing is actually tangible.
You haven’t done the work.
You haven’t sacrificed anything.
But that’s where determination comes in,
Remember when I said…you will fail,
Because what is determination, but a string of failures until something works.
The barrier of entry for things to work is to become the person that fails more than anyone else is willing to try.
That is a non-negotiable. You cannot run from it.
Please understand this, the people in your life that put you down are afraid to believe in you because it means that they have to change their entire belief system about what’s possible,
Because it means that they must face themselves and their own inaction.
People rely mostly on immediate stimuli in order to process information.
If they can’t process it with their 5 senses that means it’s not there, and it’s not tangible. Which is 100% accurate.
That much is true within the laws of physics.
However, the problem comes when people confuse tangible with possible.
They think that because an object isn’t in front of them that it won’t be in front of them forever.
(The object is the place-holder)
That’s why they fail at everything that they do,
Because they only see with their eye’s and not with their mind.
The price of entry to getting whatever that place-holder is that you want, is pain.
If you don’t go after your goals because of whatever reason- you will experience pain.
If you go after your goals and you don’t listen to everyone’s opinion - you will experience pain.
“But if I’m going to experience pain regardless, why should I go after my goals instead of being comfortable?”
If that was your first thought…
Why are you even reading this email?
Comfort will destroy you.
Mentally.
Physically.
Emotionally.
The pain of staying still may seem harmless,
(Being still and staying still are two different things)
Because you don’t even know that it’s there.
Until one day, it hits you and you’re stuck with your dreams that were never fully realised -
“Maybe I could have really done something here”
It’s good that people don’t believe in you.
It’s good that people think that you’re cringe.
It’s good that they laugh at you.
It’s good that they don’t listen.
Because it just means you’re doing something right.
You have to be okay with experiencing pain and adversity at least for a season.
But make sure to not tolerate any disrespect.
