You ever feel like you should be doing more?
I’ve been wrestling with the idea of efficiently being able to do all my tasks in a fraction of the time in my head for the past few days.
But several questions arise.
How do you keep going without burning out?
How do you work consistently even when you’re tired and you have nothing left in the tank?
How do you maintain training, writing, business, a social life?
Is it possible?
I came across this video with Gary Vee yesterday,
And he said something that deeply resonated with me, for my goals this year.
The question he was asked went as follows:
“When I’m in the maker period of building and running my business, does that mean that I have to sacrifice my social life“
His answer:
“Yes and no.”
You can have both.
But upon listening to his argument further, I realised that he meant you can do both, just not at the same time.
You can have periods where you’re building but you can come back.
If your friends and family really understand where you’re head is and they get what you’re doing…
They won’t mind.
But what if they do?
Then they do.
Your time is the most precious commodity.
We get a very finite amount of it on this planet.
4000 weeks on average.
You don’t get it back.
So yes it is possible to have it all.
Just one thing at a time.
And one step after the other.
The only way out is through.
Working smart doesn’t exist.
You work hard first,
Then figure out all the ways you’re being inefficient.
And then…
You cut all those things out of your process.
Then you work smart.
People forget the middle.
You’re terrible at something.
You keep practicing, suddenly you’re less terrible.
You keep at it and suddenly the feedback comes back and you’re not that bad.
Then you’re good.
Then you’re better.
Then you’re great.
So for any of you who might feel like you’re not doing enough right now,
Keep going.
Speed will follow through with precision.
Talk tomorrow.
